1. I walk down the street. There is a hole in the sidewalk. I fall in. I am lost … I am helpless. It isn’t my fault. It takes forever to find my way out.
2. I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I pretend I don’t see it. I fall in again. I can’t believe I am in the same place. But, it isn’t my fault. It still takes a long time to get out.
3. I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I see it is there. I still fall in. It’s a habit. My eyes are open. I know where I am. It is my fault. I get out immediately.
4. I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I walk around it.
This says so much in so little. We all get in a place where we don’t want to be or need to be. We have to be able to see ourselves and the part we play in the situations we get in and fix ourselves and pray for the others that they can see there ways and allow God to fix them.
keep on keeping on…… hmmm. easier said than done. when we get sick and tired of being sick and tired keeping on seems impossible…. sometimes we forget exactly how big our God is. After all the blessings in my life in the last year I have been in a “rut” lately. We have to remember that sometimes when the storms of life get so severe that the strongest faith is tested that we are not below and that we are not cursed!!! Sometimes we get caught in the waves of other’s storms. When the people around us go through storms that we have nothing to do with we are actually feeling the affect of their spiritual warefare. Be strong, be aware and keep on keeping on. I have been going through this “rut” but I keep hearing “This to shall pass.” That is comforting but when you are not exactly sure what it is that you are going through it is hard to be patient. I keep hearing the song Lord I’m amazed how you love me….. the words say you dance over me while I am unaware and you sing all around but i never hear the sound. That is so true… we just forget that sometimes… God is there even when we think he isn’t. My prayer for you is that he give you strength to keep on keeping on!
when life throws us those curves that we think we will hit the tree in the way it is not easy to keep up… sometimes we have to keep going even when we don’t feel like it. Treat people nicely that are not treating us like they would want to be treated. We have to remember that we do those things for God and not that person that is not being “nice”. And God will always see the things we do and will reward us for them in his time. Getting there is the hard part. and then each time you have to keep going when you don’t feel like it the right thing to do is to just do it! like the casting crowns song I Will Praise You In This Storm…..
