GENERAL COMMENTS:
The campground and Boykin Springs Lake were built in 1937 by the
Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The campground has character
and there is much to explore. A hike to the ruins of Aldridge
Sawmill on the Sawmill Trail (or driving most of the way on Forest
Rt. 326), is an interesting day trip. The Aldridge Sawmill, closed
in 1910, provides insight to the area’s industrial past.
