We scoured America’s scoop shops (tough job, but somebody had to do it) for the tastiest (and healthiest) ice creams, yogurts, and sorbets that will satisfy your sweet tooth without hurting your waistline.

Our criteria: superior taste, stellar nutrition, and countrywide availability. Here, the five winners. (A standard scoop, by the way, is about 1/2 cup, or 3 to 3.5 ounces.)

Häagen-Dazs Mango Fat Free Sorbet
A blend of juicy, tropical mangoes

120 calories, 0 grams fat, 20% RDA vitamin A, 10% RDA vitamin C

“If you love mangoes, you’ll enjoy this sorbet. It’s very satisfying—you only need a little to feel content, and it’s very refreshing on a hot summer day,” judge Christine Palumbo, RD, says. And judge Kara Nielsen, a former pastry chef who now follows food trends, says, “It’s shocking that there is no fat. This sorbet is so creamy and totally indulgent.”

Ben & Jerry’s Black Raspberry Swirl Low Fat Frozen Yogurt
Black raspberry yogurt with thick black raspberry swirls made with real black and red raspberries

140 calories, 1.5 grams fat, 15% RDA calcium

“This has a serious raspberry flavor and a beautiful creaminess. It feels like you’re eating a full-fat ice cream, not a healthy frozen yogurt,” Palumbo says. She and the other judges also like the ingredients, including hormone-free milk and fair-trade flavors. Nutrition pamphlets are available at Ben & Jerry’s counters, and there are lots of healthy choices—sorbets, frozen yogurts, and even full-fat ice creams like the next winner. (The vanilla, chocolate, and coffee flavors have 200 or fewer calories, too.) 5 healthy ice cream sandwiches

Ben & Jerry’s Strawberry Ice Cream
Strawberry ice cream with real strawberry pieces

170 calories, 9 grams fat, 15% RDA vitamin C, 10% RDA calcium

“It is delicious in taste and in feel—very honest and fresh,” says judge Gale Gand, a pastry chef and co-owner of Tru in Chicago. Palumbo loves that it has only eight ingredients—all natural. Ask for a kid-size cup to cut calories. 11 healthy milkshakes and smoothies

Baskin-Robbins Light Aloha Brownie Ice Cream

Light chocolate ice cream with ribbons of fudge and chunks of macadamia nut toffee

160 calories, 5 grams fat, 10% RDA calcium

“Rich, fudgy, chocolaty, and delicious,” Palumbo says. “If you need a chocolate fix, this will do the trick!” Baskin-Robbins’s BRight Choices flavors—like Cappuccino Chip, Premium Churned Light Raspberry Chip, and various sorbets—are healthy takes on their classics. We did have one beef: Baskin-Robbins’ products had more artificial ingredients than the other contenders. Desserts for 300 calories or less

Häagen-Dazs Cranberry Blueberry Fat Free Sorbet
A blend of tart cranberries and sweet blueberries

100 calories, 0 grams fat, 8% RDA vitamin C

“This has a nice flavor, is very refreshing and tart—but not too tart,” Gand says. Häagen Dazs shops aren’t overflowing with low-fat ice creams, but they do have other amazing fat-free sorbets besides our two winners. Our judges like that HD offers small cup sizes for portion control and that you can request nutrition information, which is kept behind the counter.

If you add a cone…
• Cake cone: 17 calories, 0 grams fat
• Sugar cone: 40 calories, 0.5 grams fat
• Waffle cone: 121 calories, 2 grams fat

The 7 best fat-blasters

The 7 best fat-blasters

By Su Reid-St. John

We all have days when there’s no time to get to the gym. So we wondered: Which close-to-home cardio activities blast fat fastest?Wonder no more. Here are the top seven fat-and-calorie burners, from Los Angeles based celeb trainer Ramona Braganza, who has helped shape the amazing bodies of stars like Jessica Alba, Halle Berry, and Anne Hathaway.

Try any one of these, and you’ll boost your metabolism for up to a whole day afterward. One small workout, one giant payoff.

1. Inline skating
Burns 425 calories in 30 minutes

Surprised? While skating might be so much fun you forget you’re actually working out, it’s also numero uno on our list when it comes to blasting fat and calories.

The big burn stems from the side-to-side movement of your thigh and butt muscles (demanding more from your body than the straightforward motion of our number-two activity — running). And your core gets involved in a big way to keep you balanced.

What’s more, you get all these benefits without putting too much stress on your knees and other joints. Skate at a strong, steady pace. Don’t forget your helmet, wrist guards, and knee and elbow pads.

Boost the burn: Alternate one minute of hard skating with one minute of medium-paced strokes. Get a beautiful butt in 4 weeks

2. Running
Burns 374 calories in 30 minutes

The typical runner’s shape is sleek and lean, and there’s a reason for that: The major running muscles — legs, butt, core — happen to be the biggest calorie-and-fat-burning muscles in your body.

To get the most out of each stride, swing your arms close to your body, don’t lean forward, and keep your feet low to the ground. To lessen impact, land on the middle of your foot, then roll through to your toes.

Boost the burn: Alternate fast and slow intervals, or take to the hills. How to run faster

3. Jumping rope
Burns 340 calories in 30 minutes

You knew this workout had to be high on the list. After all, it’s one of pro boxers’ favorite ways to train.

To get the most from each jump, use a rope with handles that reach to just under your armpits when you stand on the middle of it, and follow these top-form tips: Jump with your feet slightly apart and body upright, and keep your jumps low to the ground. Don’t have a rope? You’ll get the same benefits by doing the movements rope-free.

Boost the burn: Frequently switch up your speed (slow, fast) and style (jumping with one foot, then two feet), or jump rope while you jog. How to jump the weight off

4. Hula hooping
Burns 300 calories in 30 minutes

There’s a reason Marisa Tomei and Beyoncé hoop to keep their bodies beautiful — it’s a major fat-and-calorie torcher. To do it yourself, grab an adult-sized hoop (they’re larger and heavier than kids’ hoops, making them easier to spin); you’ll know you have the right size if it reaches your chest when you stand it up in front of you.

No fancy moves required, either. Simply keep it going around your waist. To start, stand with one foot in front of the other and shift your weight back and forth (versus around in a circle). And don’t worry if you’re less than perfect at first; you’ll still knock off major calories, plus get better every time you spin.

5. Tennis
Burns 272 calories in 30 minutes

Don’t think you need to round up a partner or trek all the way to a court to break a super sweat with racket in hand. (Though if you have a pal and a nearby net, you’ll burn the same calories.) Simply find a flat area near a wall or garage door that you can hit the ball against.

Alternate forehand and backhand shots — then see how many you can do in a row without goofing. Stand 10 to 25 feet away, which will force you to hit harder. Even practicing your serve will get your body in burn mode, because you’ll have to run and bend to pick up your missed balls.

Boost the burn: Try to hit the ball consistently for 50 or 100 strokes. “Having a goal will make you work harder to reach it,” Braganza says. 30-minute workout, no gym required

6. Dancing
Burns 221 calories in 30 minutes

This may not be the biggest calorie-burner in the bunch, but it’s still an excellent — and fun! — metabolism booster. (Just look at Kelly Osbourne, who jump-started her amazing 42-pound loss on Dancing with the Stars.)

The key is to keep the tempo high, choosing songs with fast rhythms like Latin or Bollywood, and don’t rest between songs.

Try Braganza’s favorite trick: Download a workout’s worth of your favorite tunes. Begin with an upbeat inspirational song think “Just Dance” by Lady Gaga, then move on to songs with increasingly faster tempos. Slow the beat toward the end to cool down.

Boost the burn: Use your arms! Raise them in the air and move them to the beat. Dance your way to toner abs and legs

7. Walking vigorously
Burns 170 calories in 30 minutes

That’s right, walking actually made our list. Full disclosure, though: A leisurely stroll with a friend won’t cut it. You should be walking briskly enough that it’s difficult to keep up a steady conversation.

To get the most from your biggest calorie-burning muscles — legs, butt, and core — take short, quick steps, keep your torso upright, and pump your arms back and forth (not side to side) in time with your stride. With each step, land on your heel and roll through to your toes.

Boost the burn: Alternate two minutes of brisk strides with one minute of as-fast-as-you-can-go walking (or jogging).

Be Prepared

Please use this study guide by reading one scripture for 14 days… and praying a prayer after each study time.

2nd Peter 3:10

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

Prayer: Lord, on that promised day that you will come and get your beloved, I pray that you are not a thief in the night to me.  I pray that i have been the gate keeper to my family, the mother, the father, the wife, the husband, the son, the daughter.. etc.. that you have created me to be.  Lord, i also pray that i have been the disciple that you called me to be.  Each person I have come in contact with that i am and will be your hands and feet and the light in there possibly dark world.  The hug the smile the word the food etc.. when they needed it most.  Lord and I want to thank you for your word to read and study, your faithfulness and truthfulness.  Lord, I give you permission to prepare my heart, mind and soul for the journey that leads me to that glorious day where you come quickly.  In jesus name, amen.

Matthew 25: 1-13

1. The kindom of Heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamp out to meet the bridegroom.  2.  Now five of them were wise and five were foolish.  3.  Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them.  4.  but the wise took oil with their lamps  5.  But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept 6.  And at midnight a cry was heard: “Behold, the bridegroom is coming: go out to meet him! 7.  Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.  8:  And the foolish said to the wise, Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out” 9:  But the wise answered, Saying”NO lest there should be enough for us and you;  but go rather to those who sell, and but for yourselves”  10.  And while they went to buy, the bride groom came, and those who were ready went with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.  11.  Afterward the other virgins came also, saying “LORD LORD open to us!! 12.  but he answered and said, “ASSUREDLY, I SAY TO YOU, I DO NOT KNOW YOU.  13.  “Watch therefore you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.”

Study Guide:

Jesus gives us guidelines to observe as we await his second coming they are to be prepared, be active in God’s work and to be concerned for the needy.

Virgins= followers of  Jesus      bridegroom=Jesus     oil=spiritual preparedness    wise=because they were prepared

foolish= because they were not prepared

sleeping sometimes symbolizes unreadiness (read romans12:11 & 1Thes 5:6)  / The point; however is not to be awake but be prepared.  Altough everyone slept, only the wise had the  necessary oil when they needed it.

It was not selfishness to say to the foolish go get your own.. rather it illustrates the truth that spiritual preparedness cannot be shared.  Each must be prepared for himself or herself.

When Christ returns it will be too late to prepare.

prayer for matt 25: 1-13

Please, O God let my lamp be full of oil and that I have been wise and not foolish.  That my works and fruit have only been storing up the oil and not possessions here on earth.  And when you shut that door that I am on the same side as you, this is my prayer.  That I am not one of the ones shouting open up to us Lord.  I don not want you to have to say to me I DO NOT KNOW YOU. !  You will call me by name when me meet face to face.  I want my heart to be right with you and my feet to follow you all the days of my life.  And Lord as I slumber sometimes as life throws hardship and storms that I may be reminded of your love, grace and promises to be woke up by and remain faithful to you all the days of my life.  Thank you for the promise of your 2nd coming and i look forward to our date of the bride groom wedding! In jesus name.. amen
