A different Kind of Valentines Love


It is easy to do for our favorite valentines and our loved ones on this day .. but what about others who don’t have that special someone or someones?

I was in HEB grocery store last night.. Very tired.. not feeling well. .it was cold and rainy… oh yeah and i was hungry.. i get my groceries, the place is so crowded. I get in line to check out and a little elderly lady wearing a HEB shirt and hair net gets in front of me with a balloon a frog a valentines bag and goodies.. I started to make conversation and say that she would have some happy grand children when she got home , like i said i was tired… and hungry.. and ready to just get outta there.. Then the very young cashier says… You have a special Valentine?? The lady kinda laughs and i thought please don’t have some weird story about your boyfriend.. She goes on to say No.. i am buying this for the Lady at the diner, she just been so nice to me.. i just love visiting with her.. i have been going there for years and she is just so nice i wanted to make her day.. The cashier says how sweet, I know she will love it.. The lady say’s i know it would make me smile if someone bought me a big green frog on valentines day.. I felt God tugging at my heart .. he wanted me to get out of line go purchase the same stuff she bought for the diner lady and leave it there for her to find today.. I could have give it to the cashier to give to her.. but i was hungry, tired and ready to go home..   I went on about my way.. home to eat and bed.. Well guess who i woke up thinking about this morning?  yes the sweet lady in front of me that bought the nice lady at the diner a valentines present.. So at lunch i went and bought a singing red frog a balloon a bag and put some goodies in it, my favorite thing I put in the bag was a pink sparkly key chain that said God’s Princess with a crown.. I noticed it at the check out and it was like that was the message she was suppose to hear from God through this whole thing… So i take the bag to HEB, i can not find her.. and i ask a manager.. We found another lady that knew her and find out that she is off.. i am sad at this point..thinking i should have obeyed God last night and just did it when he first told me…. Then she says i will see her tonight.. and i can take it too her.. YAAAAY.. i didn’t miss my chance to bless this wonderful lady.. on Valentines Day… so today and everyday.. listen to God when he asks you to go out of your way to bless someone who may be alone, missunderstood, living on the street, at the lowest point of their life.. etc… Share the Love .. Share the Jesus in you.. let them see him through you.. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY…


Romans 8:32 AWESOMNESS!!!


I am a strong believer in reading scripture in different versions of the bible..  I heard Romans 8:32 on 91.9 KAVX  (our sister station) for the first time today and it really grabbed my heart.  So of course I look it up in all versions.. I hope to encourage to do the same with scripture that catches your heart or curiosity.  If you don’t understand it try a different version.. the message bible is a easier version..  i actually like the King James Version but don’t always understand it so I look at scripture in them all.  I  even have a  bible that has all four versions across one page.. to compare and study… so let this encourage you to read more scripture..


King James Version     Passage Romans 8:32:
32He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

i saw this and thought!!! Wait a minute.. This is what is wrong with the kids and the world today!!! My bible clearly says spare the rod spoil the child.. Are my kids perfect no.. am i a perfect mother no.. but i do try and use common sense when it comes to teaching them on what  to do and what not to do.. and dealing with their consequences.  I do ministry work and am proud to let them see me do it. and love that they have both helped in some kind of ministry or plan on going on a mission trip.. But to spank or not.. i spanked when necessary… yes i did..  Some parents don’t spank scared the child will call 911.. Once my youngest told me she was going to call CPS  i handed her the phone… LOL  I copied this article to share ….


TORONTO (Reuters) – Spanking children can cause long-term developmental damage and may even lower a child’s IQ, according to a new Canadian analysis that seeks to shift the ethical debate over corporal punishment into the medical sphere.

The study, published this week in the Canadian Medical Association Journal, reached its conclusion after examining 20 years of published research on the issue. The authors say the medical finding have been largely overlooked and overshadowed by concerns that parents should have the right to determine how their children are disciplined.

While spanking is certainly not as widespread as it was 20 years ago, many still cling to the practice and see prohibiting spanking as limiting the rights of parents.

That point of view highlights the difficulty in changing hearts and minds on the issue, despite a mountain of accumulated evidence showing the damage physical punishment can have on a child, says Joan Durant, a professor at University of Manitoba and one of the authors of the study.

“We’re really past the point of calling this a controversy. That’s a word that’s used and I don’t know why, because in the research there really is no controversy,” she said in an interview.

“If we had this level of consistency in findings in any other area of health, we would be acting on it. We’d be pulling out all the stops to work on the issue.”

Durant and co-author Ron Ensom, with the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa, cite research showing that physical punishment makes children more aggressive and antisocial, and can cause cognitive impairment and developmental difficulties.

Recent studies suggest it may reduce the brain’s grey matter in areas relevant to intelligence testing.

“What people have realized is that physical punishment doesn’t only predict aggression consistently, it also predicts internalizing kinds of difficulties, like depression and substance use,” said Durant.

“There are no studies that show any long term positive outcomes from physical punishment.”

While banned in 32 countries, corporal punishment of children retains at least partial social acceptance in much of the world. Debates on the issue typically revolve around the ethics of using violence to enforce discipline.

With the study, Durant hopes parents will start to look at the issue from a medical perspective.

“What we’re hoping is that physicians will take that message and do more to counsel parents around this and to help them understand that physical punishment isn’t getting them where they want to go,” she said.

She also hopes that countries that allow the practice – including Canada – will take another look at their child protection laws.

Canada is one of more than 190 countries to have ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, a 1989 treaty that sets out protections for children.

The treaty – which has been ratified by all UN member states except for the United States, Somalia and South Sudan – includes a passage stating that countries must protect children from “all forms of physical or mental violence”.

“If we had two or three studies that showed that if you took 500 mg of vitamin C a day you could reduce cancer risk, we would all be taking 500 mg of vitamin C a day,” Durant said.

“Here, we have more than 80 studies, I would say more than 100, that show the same thing (about corporal punishment), and yet we keep calling it controversial.”

After years of trying to break America, Jamie Oliver has finally made his mark by persuading one of the biggest U.S fast food chains in the world to change their burger recipe.

McDonald’s have altered the ingredients after the Naked Chef forced them to remove a processed food type that he labelled ‘pink slime’.

The food activist was shocked when he learned that ammonium hydroxide was being used by McDonald’s to convert fatty beef offcuts into a beef filler for its burgers in the USA.

The filler product made headlines after he denounced it on his show, Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution.

‘Basically, we’re taking a product that would be sold at the cheapest form for dogs and after this process we can give it to humans’ said the TV chef.

Jamie showed American audiences the raw ‘pink slime’ produced in the ammonium hydroxide process used by producers named Beef Products Inc (BPI).

‘Pink slime’ has never been used in McDonald’s beef patties in the UK and Ireland which source their meat from farmers within the two countries.

Now after months of campaigning on his hit US television show McDonald’s have admitted defeat and the fast food giant has abandoned the beef filler from its burger patties.

US Department of Agriculture microbiologist Geral Zirnstein agreed with Jamie that ammonium hydroxide agent should be banned.
