Day 25 Today I Will…. be content , no matter what my finances look like

Being content no matter what our finances look like, easier said than done.  When we work hard all week, to take care of our families, and to find out that we can barely pay our bills is such a let down.  We keep going to work to do the best we can.  Pay the bills as we can and sometimes splurge on the weekends when possible.  The scriptures that comes to mind on this subject are these :

  1. Matthew 6:25
[ Do Not Worry ] “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
Matthew 6:24-26 (in Context) Matthew 6 (Whole Chapter) Other Translations
  2. Luke 12:29
And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it.
Luke 12:28-30 (in Context) Luke 12 (Whole Chapter) Other TranslationsI think for me once I started tithing life seemed less stressful.  Once I put God to the only test that we can “test’ him on, giving him the 10% that he asks for, he was able to show me his awesome power and the promises that he can fulfill.  It’s amazing how that works.  He says try me in this….

    1. Malachi 3:10
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.
Malachi 3:9-11 (in Context) Malachi 3 (Whole Chapter)

I even talk to my preschoolers about this.  How that even the pennies and nickles they bring into the church to give in children’s church can bring them blessings. So why would you not want  to open the flood gates of heaven and pour out so much of that blessing that he promises, that will be more than your family can store.
