Have you ever felt that you were who and what God wanted you to be?  Only to find yourself back on the potters wheel being molded and shaped again??? I used to think at some point that i would be done being molded.  But after talking with a Great and wise friend I have come to the realization that I will never be done being molded and shaped to his liking.  After all that I have been through after all I have learned from the bible and applied in my life.. THERE IS STILL MORE!!!!  That raises a question in my human mind.. what about everybody else.. do you pick on them as much as you do me??? Or is it that I hear you more and obey you more.  When I look around at the people I love, I see opportunities that they miss by not obeying, I myself miss opportunities too.  We think we are in the “spot” that we are good.  But in reality we should be on the potters wheel everyday!! A listener just commented that on my FB post.. that is so very true…  I even went as far as watching videos on how the clay pot thing works… It has such a connecting image on exactly how God molds us just like that weak, stubborn, hard to work with clay.  It also shows how messy we can be but yet in the end we turn out as beautiful pieces of art.  So today how does your clay pot look?  are you just a blob of clay ready to be molded, are you a full pot with cracks with light shining thru or do you keep it all in?  Are you a piece of clay that obeys the potters commands??? or one who does what it wants suffering it’s own consequences?  look up the verse on the picture above.. watch a coupe videos on the clay being shaped… see how it fits …

So I dug into this clay pot thing a little more… it’s amazing how much shaping clay is like our relationship with God.  Pottery is made by forming a clay body into objects of a round shape and heating them to high temperatures in a  kiln which removes all the water from the clay, which induces reactions that lead to permanent changes including increasing their strength and hardening and setting their shape.

check this out..

Greenwhere refers to unfired objects. (us without God) They are soft and malleable.  Hence they can be easily deformed by handling.. aka.. easily give in to temptation and sin.

Leather-hard- refers to a body that has been partially dried.  Clay bodies and people at this stage are not easily pliable.  We are stuck in our own ways and only change when God really turns up the heat.

Bone-dry refers to clay bodies when they reach a moisture content at or near 0%.  How many of us have stepped away from God and became bone dry?

Biscuit- refers to the clay after the object is shaped to the desired form and fired in the kiln, this changes the body in several ways.  This is us when we are so stuck in our ways that we only change when God gives us  situation that leads us with  no other choice…. but to see him for who he is and what he is capable of.

Glost fired-  this is the final stage of some pottery.  A glaze may be applied to the biscuit form and the object can be decorated in several ways.  a glaze can be added to harden it.  this to me is like once we have accepted him, trust him, rely on him he protects us and makes us stronger and poors out his blessing..
